About The Role
Micla Engineering & Design is looking for Design Release Engineers to support component development on production vehicle programs for one of the world's largest carmakers.
The role combines technical depth with program leadership. You assess and challenge supplier technical proposals, and you guide the integration of components into the vehicle — where they sit, what constrains them, and what the trade-offs are between one solution and another. You own the technical deliverables of your components at each program milestone.
What You Will Do
• Lead the technical development of components — ECUs, sensors, cameras, radar, lidar, displays, audio — from specification to production
• Release component technical specifications; translate customer-level requirements into functional, software, hardware and test requirements
• Prepare source packages and evaluate supplier proposals from a technical standpoint
• Guide integration teams on component placement and packaging, assessing environmental and installation constraints
• Lead coordination meetings with suppliers to monitor progress and identify countermeasures for issues and delays
• Coordinate with function, diagnostics, functional safety and cybersecurity specialists on technical solutions
• Support component-level validation planning (environmental, EMC) and monitor HW/SW validation and bug-fix closure
• Support impact analysis and risk assessment for content and timing changes; support end-of-line and plant requirements
Requisiti:
Required
• Master's degree in Computer, Electrical, Vehicle or Software Engineering or similar
• Knowledge of automotive components and installation requirements — ECUs and sensors, or infotainment and display components
• Demonstrated delivery on automotive systems, ideally on at least one complete vehicle program
• Project management capability — this role is not purely technical
• Knowledge of ISO 26262 and DFMEA
• Strong problem solving; reliable under pressure; able to work in cross-functional, multicultural teams
• Good level of English, sufficient to lead technical discussion with suppliers and international stakeholders
• Availability for international business travel, including plant and supplier visits
Valued
• Supplier management experience in automotive
• Benchmarking on technologies and installation solutions
• PLM and EBOM work; part number creation and maintenance (Teamcenter or equivalent)
• Regulatory compliance at component and function level across markets
• Cost and weight reduction programs
• Serial life quality and issue management
