Role Description
The Travel Advisor is a full-time role responsible for designing and managing bespoke Morocco itineraries from first inquiry to post-trip follow-up. This person will consult with clients to understand their preferences, craft detailed day-by-day proposals, confirm accommodations, drivers, guides, and activities, and own all client communications by email (and phone when needed). The Travel Advisor ensures every booking meets Gateway2Morocco's standards for quality, timing, and value, while maintaining accurate client records and collaborating closely with local partners in Morocco.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
• Responding promptly and professionally to inbound inquiries via email and online channels, qualifying needs, and guiding clients toward the right itinerary options.
• Designing customized, day-by-day Morocco itineraries (routes, hotels/riads, transfers, guides, activities) aligned with client interests, budget, and travel dates.
• Confirming and securing accommodations, private drivers, guides, and experiences; coordinating timing, pickup/drop-off points, and special requests.
• Writing clear, persuasive, and well-structured client emails and proposals that explain options, policies, and next steps.
• Managing bookings end-to-end: preparing quotes, processing payments, issuing confirmations, and maintaining organized client files in the CRM.
• Monitoring trips in progress and resolving issues quickly in coordination with the Morocco operations team.
Qualifications
• Fluency in English with excellent writing skills: able to craft clear, friendly, and professional emails and proposals without errors.
• Strong customer-focused mindset with proven Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction skills to support positive client experiences.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) to interact effectively with clients and cross-continental team members.
• Proficiency in Travel Arrangements: booking flights, accommodations, transfers, and tours, ideally within a travel agency, tour operator, or hospitality environment.
• Prior experience as a travel advisor, tour planner, or in tour operations is preferred; destination knowledge of Morocco (cities, routes, riads, desert camps, Atlas, Sahara) is a strong asset.
• Ability to manage multiple client requests, prioritize tasks, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfort with common office and booking software; CRM or reservation system experience is beneficial.
• Professional, inclusive approach and ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
Nice to Have
• Familiarity with luxury or bespoke travel planning and high-touch client service.
• Additional languages (French, Spanish, Arabic) are a plus.
• Experience coordinating with ground operators, drivers, and local guides in Morocco.
