We are looking for a Data Analyst Assistant to support our research teams and provide decision-support for complex commercial engagements. Our client operates a major logistics and distribution network where commercial data and market signals are vital for long-term planning and capital deployment. In this remote position, you will work closely with our partners to organize and interpret information that informs our advice to chief executives and sovereign entities. This is a full-time role that allows you to contribute to high-stakes advisory work while developing a deep understanding of how commercial judgment is applied in the real world.
Gulf Associates is not a traditional consultancy. We prioritize the ground reality of how deals are actually settled over theoretical reports. Our partners are involved in every step of a project, from the initial research to the final negotiation. As a Data Analyst Assistant, your work will be the foundation for these discussions. You will help us move beyond generic models by finding and verifying the specific data points that help a client take a definitive position in the market.
What you will do
• Gather and clean data sets related to counterparty behavior and emerging market trends to ensure accuracy for senior review.
• Maintain internal databases that track logistics volume and pricing shifts within the territory to identify patterns over time.
• Prepare clear charts, tables, and visual aids for use in client briefings and negotiation preparation materials.
• Conduct primary research to verify the ground reality of operational data, ensuring our advice is based on facts rather than assumptions.
• Support senior partners by drafting concise summaries of data findings that highlight commercial risks and opportunities.
• Monitor public records, regulatory updates, and commercial news for signals that might change a specific commercial position.
• Assist in building basic scenario models to test how different investment outcomes might look under various market conditions.
• Collaborate with the research team through digital channels to ensure all data points are consistent across multiple reports and documents.
What you bring
• Strong familiarity with spreadsheet software and basic data management tools to organize complex information.
• A clear writing style that avoids unnecessary jargon and gets straight to the point of the findings.
• The ability to work independently and manage your own schedule in a fully remote environment.
• Commercial curiosity about how business interests and state capital interact in complex markets.
• High attention to detail when managing large amounts of information to ensure every figure is verified.
• Willingness to learn the firm's specific approach to counterparty analysis and commercial judgment.
• An undergraduate degree or current studies in a relevant field such as economics, business, or statistics.
• A professional attitude toward handling sensitive information regarding high-stakes investments and partnerships.
What we offer
• Competitive pay that reflects the professional nature of this role and the current market standards.
• The flexibility of a fully remote work model, allowing you to contribute from your own environment without a commute.
• Direct exposure to senior partners and the decision-making processes of large sovereign entities and family groups.
• A focused workload that values the quality of your insights over the sheer volume of output.
• A professional environment where your work directly supports the resolution of complex commercial challenges.
Working at Gulf Associates
Working here means focusing on outcomes rather than just activities. We are a senior-led firm that values directness and honesty. Because we hold a small book of active engagements, every team member has a clear view of the final goal. We do not value long reports for their own sake: we value the specific evidence that helps a client make a difficult decision. This role requires a disciplined approach to research and an understanding that even small data points can influence a major negotiation. Our culture is professional and grounded, focusing on the practical steps required to launch an operation or sign a partnership. You will be expected to think critically about the data you handle and how it relates to the broader commercial goals of our clients.
