The Bundeswehr Hospital Berlin, with its 367 beds, 18 medical specialist departments and three medical competence centres, is the largest military treatment facility in northern Germany. **Job description:**
- You are responsible for carrying out and supervising examinations for all diseases of the anterior and posterior segments of the eye, as well as for neuro-ophthalmological and strabological patients.
- You are responsible for determining the indication for perioperative diagnostics and therapy as well as for specialist surgical, diagnostic and interventional measures.
- You perform surgical procedures in your specialist field.
- You prepare medical statements and specialist medical assessments.
- You work on an interdisciplinary basis with other specialist departments of the hospital.
- You contribute to quality assurance measures as well as to the further development of clinical processes.
- # You are responsible for the instruction and support of medical assistant staff as well as medical residents in further training.
- The willingness to undertake regular business trips within Germany and, if applicable, to give presentations is required.
- Participation in regular and advanced training and further education is required.

- You will be hired as a civil servant or with the aim of being appointed as a civil servant in a permanent employment relationship. Alternatively, employment in a permanent employment relationship as an employee is also possible.
- An attractive salary awaits you. The advertised position is classified at pay grade A 15 of the Federal Civil Service Remuneration Act (BBesG).
- In the case of employment as an employee, classification is made into pay group II of the Collective Agreement for the Public Service, Special Part Hospitals (TVöD BT-K).

**Qualification requirements:**
* You have a completed university degree in the field of human medicine with a licence to practise as a physician.
* You are a specialist physician for ophthalmology.
* You have a current further training certificate (if the acquisition of the specialist qualification was more than 5 years ago).
* You have experience in eyelid surgery or intraocular surgery, proven by at least one professional activity.
* You have experience in the outpatient and clinical sector, proven by at least one professional activity.
* You have equality competence.
* You meet the requirements of the Act for Protection against Measles and for Strengthening Vaccination Prevention (Measles Protection Act).
* Through your entire conduct, you profess allegiance to the free democratic basic order within the meaning of the Basic Law and advocate for its observance.
* You agree, in the case of appointment as a civil servant, to participate in a medical pre-employment examination.
