The thematic portfolio is oriented towards three central systems: cities & built environment, public energy supply systems and industrial energy systems.
The reduction of CO2 emissions, energy consumption and the use of renewable energies are current problems for which sustainable solutions must be found immediately. Our dedicated teams work on application-oriented research projects in the field of plant and operational optimisation in energy-intensive industry and thus, with our solutions, make a positive contribution to the decarbonisation of industry within the framework of the energy transition and the achievement of climate goals.
Junior Research Engineer (w/m/d) - Process simulation in
energy-intensive industry
CENTER FOR ENERGY
You will work in ongoing research projects on the further development and application of existing methods for the transformation and optimisation of thermal plants and processes in energy-intensive industry.
With the help of simulation methods and data analyses, you ensure optimal solutions for our customers and thereby enable the development and implementation of innovative technologies for use in industry.
You are in ongoing exchange with your colleagues, who come from different disciplines, and you are the contact person for our customers and project partners.
You have the opportunity to publish your research results in specialist journals and to present them at conferences and in international forums.
Since our focus is applied research, you can experience the methods you develop directly in practice in innovative demonstration projects and can use the knowledge gained for the ongoing improvement of technologies and systems.
Every project brings new questions, which is why you can continuously expand your knowledge and familiarise yourself with new subject areas on an ongoing basis.
As an Ingenious Partner, you stand out through:
Completed degree in the field of process engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, applied energy technology, environmental engineering or a similar direction
Very good knowledge of process simulation programmes (e.g. IPSEpro, Dymola/Modelica) as well as a higher-level programming language (e.g. Python, Julia)
Basic knowledge in software engineering or software development advantageous
Pronounced interest in research & development on the topic of "energy efficiency in the process industry" at process level (decarbonisation of processes in energy-intensive industry, heat recovery and flexibilisation) and in the digitalisation environment (Industry 4.0, artificial intelligence, optimisation)
Enthusiasm, willingness to learn, high commitment and team spirit
Excellent communication and presentation skills in German and English
What you can expect:
The gross annual salary for full-time (38.5 h / week) according to the collective agreement is EUR 56,784. The current salary is determined individually according to your qualifications and experience.
