Treatment of fresh complex hand and wrist injuries and their consequences such as corrective operations after malunited bony injuries (excluding microsurgical procedures), fresh tendon injuries as well as reconstruction of tendons including flexor tendon transplants in late stages and fresh carpal instabilities (ligament reconstructions) and their late sequelae by means of partial arthrodeses (e.g. midcarpal), furthermore scaphoid reconstructions and pseudarthroses, but also percutaneous screw fixation of fresh scaphoid fractures, resection arthroplasties in rhizarthroses as well as surgical treatment of Dupuytren's contractures and nerve compression syndromes; particular attention is paid to wrist surgery, including diagnostic and therapeutic wrist arthroscopy (e.g. triangular fibrocartilage complex - TFCC and arthrolyses)
Osteosyntheses for fractures near the knee joint (partly arthroscopically assisted), meniscus suture or resection, arthroscopic cruciate ligament reconstruction – depending on indication/requirement profile, stage-appropriate treatment of patellar dislocations, cartilage surgery including autologous chondrocyte transplantation (ACT), stage-appropriate treatment of osteochondritis dissecans as well as chondropathia patellae, axis corrections near the knee joint in existing varus or valgus malalignment as well as arthroscopic joint debridement or total knee arthroplasty
Treatment of all injuries of the shoulder girdle according to the latest scientific findings and standards with focus on fractures of the shoulder girdle (proximal humerus, glenoid, scapula, clavicle), fresh and chronic rotator cuff ruptures, instability in the shoulder girdle area, impingement syndrome and arthrosis
In surgical therapy, minimally invasive techniques (e.g. arthroscopic rotator cuff reconstructions, arthroscopic stabilization operations, etc.) are increasingly used, but open shoulder joint surgery up to endoprosthetics is also performed; continuous care by the shoulder outpatient clinic team and close cooperation with the physiotherapy department in the house
The location is also part of the regional teaching hospital for orthopedics
Requirements:
Specialist diploma for trauma surgery in Austria or specialist recognition in the EU/EEA or alternatively in a third country with continuous 3-year activity in an EU/EEA country as a specialist for trauma surgery
German language skills at B2 level, English skills an advantage
Good knowledge of contemporary traumatological diagnostics and therapy as well as several years of experience in knee endoprosthetics
Team spirit, commitment and joy in the empathetic care of patients
Before starting the activity, immunity against measles, mumps, rubella, varicella and hepatitis
