YOUR FUTURE ROLE
Overall responsibility for the conception, establishment and sustainable anchoring of Clinical Trials Austria to strengthen Austria as a location for clinical research and studies
Development of a viable governance and organisational model
Bringing together and steering key stakeholders from politics, regulatory authorities, science, healthcare, industry and patient* representatives in close coordination with the interministerial steering group
Deriving and implementing strategic measures to strengthen the framework conditions for clinical trials in Austria as well as conducting analyses and (international) benchmarking initiatives
Further development of national standards and shaping of innovative processes for an attractive, future-proof clinical study location for research-intensive clinical trials
International networking and exchange with European and international best-practice countries
In the course of building the platform, the establishment of a small CTA team is envisaged
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
Completed university degree and further qualifications with professional relevance for the clinical trial ecosystem (preferably PhD, MBA or comparable postgraduate qualification)
Many years of professional experience, ideally also in a leadership role, in the clinical trial ecosystem or in a relevant environment of clinical research, for example in healthcare, in science and research, in pharmaceutical, biotech or medtech companies, in public administration or in research and study management
Very good knowledge of the Austrian clinical research landscape as well as the national and international framework conditions for clinical trials
Experience in building, steering and managing complex multi-stakeholder projects or service-oriented infrastructure platforms
Competent and convincing demeanour, high integrative ability, diplomatic skill and negotiating confidence
Solution-oriented, analytical and organised way of working combined with decision-making and implementation strength
Open, dynamic and proactive personality with a hands-on mentality
Excellent German and English skills
WHAT IS SPECIAL ABOUT THIS POSITION
Establishment of a national key initiative, financed with resources from the Fonds Zukunft Österreich, for Austria as a location for clinical research and studies
High visibility and great scope for shaping in the currently envisaged four- to five-year establishment phase with the perspective of sustainable anchoring
Opportunity to actively help shape the framework conditions for clinical studies and trials in Austria
Direct collaboration with ministries, universities, hospital operators and other study centres, research institutions, regulatory authorities and industry partners as well as comprehensive embedding in the Ludwig Boltzmann Gesellschaft
The position is currently envisaged for four to five years and is financed with resources from the Fonds Zukunft Österreich. For this position, a gross annual salary of EUR 120,000 is envisaged. IHRE ZUKÜNFTIGE ROLLE
Gesamtverantwortung für die Konzeption, den Aufbau und die nachhaltige Verankerung von Clinical Trials Austria zur Stärkung des klinischen Forschungs- und Studienstandortes Österreich
Entwicklung eines tragfähigen Governance- und Organisationsmodells
Zusammenführung und Steuerung zentraler Stakeholder aus Politik, Regulierungsbehörden, Wissenschaft, Gesundheitswesen, Industrie und Patient*innenvertretungen in enger Abstimmung mit der interministeriellen Steuerungsgruppe
Ableitung und Umsetzung strategischer Maßnahmen zur Stärkung der Rahmenbedingungen für klinische Prüfungen in Österreich sowie Durchführung von Analysen und (internationalen) Benchmarking-Initiativen
Weiterentwicklung nationaler Standards und Gestaltung innovativer Prozesse für einen attraktiven, zukunftsfitten klinischen Studienstandort für forschungsintensive klinische Studien
Internationale Vernetzung und Austausch mit europäischen und internationalen Best-Practice-Ländern
Im Zuge des Plattform-Aufbaus ist die Etablierung eines kleinen CTA-Teams vorgesehen
IHRE QUALIFIKATIONEN
Abgeschlossenes Hochschulstudium und Weiterqualifizierungen mit fachlicher Relevanz für das klinische Studienökosystem (vorzugsweise PhD, MBA oder vergleichbare postgraduale Qualifikation)
Langjährige Berufserfahrung, idealerweise auch in leitender Funktion, im klinischen Studienökosystem oder in einem relevanten Umfeld der klinischen Forschung, beispielsweise im Gesundheitswesen, in Wissenschaft und Forschung, in Pharma-, Biotech- oder MedTech-Unternehmen, in der öffentlichen Verwaltung oder im Forschungs- und Studienmanagement
Sehr gute Kenntnisse der österreichischen klinischen Forschungslandschaft sowie der nationalen und internationalen Rahmenbedingungen für klinische Prüfungen
Erfahrung im Aufbau, der Steuerung und dem Management komplexer Multistakeholder-Projekte oder serviceorientierter Infrastruktur-Plattformen
Kompetentes und überzeugendes Auftreten, hohe Integrationsfähigkeit, diplomatisches Geschick und Verhandlungssicherheit

DAS BESONDERE AN DIESER POSITION
Aufbau einer nationalen, aus Mitteln des Fonds Zukunft Österreich finanzierten Schlüsselinitiative für den klinischen Forschungs- und Studienstandort Österreich
Hohe Sichtbarkeit und großer Gestaltungsspielraum in der aktuell für vier bis fünf Jahre vorgesehenen Aufbauphase mit der Perspektive einer nachhaltigen Verankerung
Möglichkeit, die Rahmenbedingungen klinischer Studien und Prüfungen in Österreich aktiv mitzugestalten
Direkte Zusammenarbeit mit Ministerien, Universitäten, Krankenhausträgern und anderen Studienzentren, Forschungseinrichtungen, Regulierungsbehörden und Industriepartnern sowie umfassende Einbettung in die Ludwig Boltzmann Gesellschaft
Die Position ist aktuell für vier bis fünf Jahre vorgesehen und wird aus Mitteln des Fonds Zukunft Österreich finanziert. Für diese Position ist ein Bruttojahresgehalt von EUR 120.000,- vorgesehen.
