Career Day around the locomotive in Innsbruck
We
are looking for Vehicle Preparers for the Innsbruck and Wörgl area for
a course start in 2027.
Your tasks – exciting and varied:
Within nine weeks, all key content on technology, safety equipment and applicable regulations will be taught to you in a practical manner. This creates a solid foundation for your further career path.
With responsibility and technical flair, you will carry out vehicle checks and thus ensure that every vehicle can go on the track ready for operation.
When shunting, coupling and operating switches, turntables and hall doors, it becomes clear how important teamwork and accuracy are.
Refuelling and equipping the vehicles with all necessary operating materials and inventory items is also part of your work.
After appropriate qualification, there is the opportunity to develop at the depot into positions such as Vehicle Coordinator, Signal Box Operator or Train Driver.
What you bring – our expectations:
At the start of the course, a minimum age of 19 years as well as a completed compulsory school leaving certificate are required.
A further completed school or vocational education (e.g. apprenticeship qualification, vocational matriculation examination or technical school) is an advantage.
Enjoyment of working outdoors – in sunshine, wind and rain – as well as physical fitness are important prerequisites for your work.
Shift work, including on weekends, public holidays and at night, can be well reconciled with your own everyday life and environment.
The civilian or military service has already been completed or you are exempt from it.
What we offer you – a convincing package:
We offer extensive further training opportunities and numerous benefits for ÖBB employees.
For the function "Vehicle Preparer-Shunter, junior staff", a minimum salary of € 38,351.88 gross/year is envisaged. After completed training and when exercising the function "Vehicle Preparer-Shunter", the salary is at least € 38,351.88 gross/year, with remuneration above the collective agreement of at least € 40,161.24 gross/year.
Targeted further training modules open up the possibility for you, with a completed (vocational) education as well as medical and psychological suitability, to take on responsible positions – for example as Shunting Supervisor, Vehicle Coordinator or Provision Train Driver – and to receive appropriate remuneration for this.
38.5-hour week with payment of overtime worked.
Higher remuneration for night work: +25% per hour.
