Start your training as a shunting locomotive driver. Do you have a great interest in operating locomotives, preparing them for our universal locomotive drivers and checking them against all safety regulations? Then you are in the right place with us!
Your tasks – exciting and varied:
Everyday
work includes preparing traction units in compliance with the rules, checking
them and carrying out shunting and transfer runs.
Conspicuous damage is reported independently.
You take
over trains and then stables them properly at the depot –
you always keep an overview and work in close exchange
with other colleagues.
In
a well-founded training lasting several months, you will be carefully prepared
for your future activity – with plenty of practice and
personal support.
During
the training you gain valuable driving experience – on the modern
ÖBB simulator as well as in real railway operations.
Upon
completion of the training you receive the class A4 traction unit driver's licence,
including shunting management.
What you bring – our expectations:
A
completed (vocational) training is required, and the minimum age
of 19 years is reached at the start of the course.
The
civilian or military service has already been completed or you are
exempt from it.
Very
good knowledge of German in speech and writing enables safe,
friendly and professional communication with passengers
and colleagues.
Physical
fitness as well as good visual and hearing ability must be present.
Changing
working hours in shift work (including night, weekend and
public holiday service) can be well reconciled with your own everyday life and environment.
What we offer you – a convincing package:
A
training that combines technology, responsibility and teamwork – while offering room for
personal development.
A
high-quality but significantly shorter training (approx. 28 weeks)
than for a universal traction unit driver.
The
start of a long-term career as a traction unit driver –
with development opportunities for higher classes or additional
traction unit types.
Experienced
professionals and career changers are also very welcome:
technical understanding and enjoyment of responsibility count more than
previous job titles.
