Areas of responsibility
In this key position, you assume overall responsibility for the areas of Anti Money Laundering (AML), Compliance and Financial Crime Prevention. This includes in particular the compliance functions WAG, AML/CFT and sanctions as well as responsibility for the group-wide money laundering officer. Together with your team, you ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and act as a sparring partner for the management board, executives and external stakeholders.
Technical and disciplinary leadership as well as further development of the AML & Compliance area
Ensuring compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements in the banking environment
Overall responsibility for the compliance functions WAG, AML/CFT, sanctions as well as for the group-wide money laundering officer
Further development of the compliance and AML strategy as well as corresponding policies, processes and controls
Strategic interface to FMA, OeNB, ECB, group audit and external auditors
Advising the management board and executives on regulatory issues
Responsibility for communication with supervisory authorities, in particular FMA and relevant audit bodies
Accompanying internal and external audits as well as implementing regulatory innovations
Promoting a lived compliance culture within the company
Monitoring regulatory developments at national and European level
Qualification profile
Completed degree in law, business law, business administration, finance or comparable education
Several years of relevant professional experience in the area of AML, compliance, regulatory affairs or financial crime, ideally in a bank or financial institution
Sound knowledge of Austrian and European banking supervisory law as well as regulatory requirements in the area of money laundering prevention
Proven experience in working with the Financial Market Authority (FMA) as well as in accompanying supervisory audits and special audits
Confident handling of official requirements, findings and measures as well as their sustainable implementation
Pronounced understanding of governance, risk and control systems
Strategic thinking, assertiveness and a high sense of responsibility
Excellent communication skills as well as professional appearance towards the management board, supervisory board and authorities
