My job with meaning: with the wagons I couple, I bring all of Austria together.”
Josef, shunter

You operate safety-related systems, such as points and similar equipment.
Via radio, you are in constant contact and coordinate with colleagues from other shunting teams, train drivers and the traffic control centre.
You are our eye for quality on site: you watch for defects or damage to vehicles, loads and our facilities and report them immediately.
Your training:
What you need for your job, you learn and practise in around 9 weeks at one of the ÖBB training centres in Vienna, Amstetten, Villach or Graz.
Expectations you fulfil:
Your German skills are good enough that you can communicate sufficiently with your colleagues via radio.
You preferably have a completed vocational or school education (apprenticeship, technical school, Matura, etc.).
Heat, cold, wetness and draughts do not bother you and you are physically fit.
You have already completed civilian service or are exempt.
You and your family can cope well with changing working hours in shift work (nights/weekends/public holidays).
An offer that convinces you:
