Your tasks – exciting and varied:
In 32 varied weeks, all essential technical and operational regulations relating to rail vehicles and their loads are taught.
In the practical training, you will be trained under the guidance of experienced colleagues – including your first assignments in shift work.
After passing the service examination, you will be deployed as a Wagenmeister:in for freight wagons.
Vehicles and trains are inspected according to the applicable guidelines and standards.
You decide whether trains and wagons are operational and safe and carefully document the results.
Through targeted further training, there is the opportunity to continuously develop professionally and personally.
With commitment and a sense of responsibility, you make a significant contribution to safe and reliable railway operations.

What you bring – our expectations:
A completed mechanical or electrical engineering training is required, as well as a minimum age of 18 at the start of the course.
You are a responsible personality who enjoys a varied and technical activity.
Manual dexterity enables you to carry out a variety of tasks safely.
Enjoyment of working outdoors – in sun, wind and rain – as well as physical fitness are important prerequisites for your work.
You work independently, reliably and always keep the most important tasks in view.
Shift work, including on weekends, public holidays and at night, can be easily reconciled with your own everyday life and environment.
You have already completed military or civilian service or are exempt from it.
Very good knowledge of German, both written and spoken, ensures safe and appreciative communication with colleagues and customers.

For the position "Wagenmeister:in Nachwuchskraft", a minimum salary of € 38,351.88 gross/year is envisaged. After completing the training and when performing the "Wagenmeister:in" function, the salary is at least € 45,822.42 gross/year, with remuneration above the collective agreement of at least € 47,865.16 gross/year.
In addition, performance-oriented additional allowances averaging around € 300 gross per month (excluding overtime) are granted.
