Maintenance Technician

Role Purpose: The Kitchen Equipment Technician is responsible for the installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of commercial kitchen equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted kitchen operations. The role involves troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and kitchen appliances while complying with safety and hygiene standards. Key Responsibilities: ·Install, service, and repair commercial kitchen equipment such as ovens, ranges, grills, fryers, steamers, dishwashers, refrigerators, and freezers · Diagnose faults in electrical, mechanical, systems and perform corrective repairs · Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize breakdowns and equipment downtime · Ensure all equipment operates in compliance with safety, fire, and hygiene regulations · Maintain accurate service records, maintenance logs, and work reports · Coordinate with kitchen staff to schedule maintenance with minimal operational disruption · Identify and recommend replacement of worn or unsafe parts · Handle emergency equipment breakdowns as required · Ensure proper use of tools, PPE, and adherence to safety procedures · Assist with inventory management of spare parts and tools Qualifications & Experience: · Diploma or technical certification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Refrigeration field · Proven experience as a Kitchen Equipment Technician or similar role · Strong knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment and systems · Basic understanding of electrical wiring, gas systems, and refrigeration · Ability to read technical manuals and schematics · Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Skills & Competencies: · Preventive and corrective maintenance expertise · Time management and ability to work under pressure · Good communication and teamwork skills · Attention to detail and safety awareness · Willingness to work shifts, weekends, or on call
