# **Head of Unit Hydraulic Engineering, Forestry**
is to be filled on a permanent basis.
**The tasks include, among others:**
Management and leadership responsibility for individual areas of responsibility:
o Coordination, optimisation and monitoring of all work processes in the Hydraulic Engineering, Forestry unit
o Management and instruction of subordinate employees, performance of technical, personnel, organisational and budget responsibilities in the unit
o Representation of the interests of the areas of responsibility in municipal construction projects and in third-party planning projects
o Acquisition of funding from the relevant funding programmes of the EU, the federal government and the state
Assumption of leadership responsibility as well as higher-level administrative tasks in the context of the planning and implementation of municipal projects and projects of supra-regional importance within the following areas of responsibility:
o Hydraulic engineering/water management,
o Flood protection,
o Stormwater drainage and fountains,
o Groundwater, wastewater and stormwater,
o Forestry authority and forestry as well as
o the control of the oak processionary moth
Lead responsibility for the handling of hydraulic engineering projects within the framework of complex water law approval and planning approval procedures
Representation of the city through competent communication of the concerns of hydraulic engineering, groundwater monitoring, flood protection, forestry and the control of the oak processionary moth to the public, the press and in the political sphere
**Technical and personal requirements, among others:**
Completed university of applied sciences degree (diploma, at least bachelor) in a degree programme conducive to the activity, preferably in the field of hydraulic engineering/water management, urban water management and/or landscape architecture, alternatively a comparable university of applied sciences degree with corresponding specialist deepening
Driving licence class B required
Several years of professional experience in the field of hydraulic engineering, water management, landscape construction and flood protection required
Confident command of the German language in speech and writing, at least C2 level
Several years of leadership experience desirable; if there is no several years of leadership experience, the position can be filled on a probationary basis (the probationary period is then 2 years)
Very good knowledge of public procurement and contract law
Communication and motivation skills
Interviewing skills and strategic thinking ability
Stress resistance
This full-time position with 39 hours per week is classified in pay group 11 TVöD (VKA), engineers.
The monthly gross remuneration in this pay group varies depending on relevant professional experience and length of experience between €4,269.64 in level 1 and €6,326.77 in final level 6.
Recognition of relevant professional experience in accordance with Section 16 (2) TVöD is only possible if corresponding evidence is submitted.
In the event of employment, a certificate of good conduct for presentation to an authority in accordance with Section 30 BZRG must be provided without fail.
This workplace is suitable for severely disabled persons who meet the technical and personal requirements. They will be given preferential consideration if equally suitable and qualified. Unfortunately, the office building of the Civil Engineering Office is not barrier-free.
